Saskatchewan Parks to Open Seasonal Campsite Reservations This April

More and more provincial parks within Canada are opening camping reservations in anticipation of the 2023 camping season.

As per a press release, camping reservations for Saskatchewan Provincial Parks are set to open on April 3 for seasonal campsites and April 4 to 12 for nightly, Camp-Easy, and group campsites.

According to Parks, Culture, and Sport Minister Laura Ross, “Many campers are already looking forward to setting up their home-away-from-home in provincial parks this summer.”

The complete reservation schedule for the 2023 season has been released, with details on the specific dates and parks available for reservations.

Along with the reservation schedule, the park’s fees have also been announced, with a slight increase in prices to reflect the growing number of services provided year-round and in accordance with Provincial Sales Tax.

While annual, weekly, and daily vehicle entry fees will see an increase, fees for nightly, seasonal, and group camping will remain the same for the 2023 camping season

Additionally, Camp-Easy sites will increase from CA$80 to CA$85 per night, and the Mongolian Yurt at Great Blue Heron will increase from CA$110 to CA$116 per night.

However, campers can look forward to new features and amenities this year despite the fee increases.

A notification feature on the reservation system will allow campers to sign up to receive an alert if a specific campsite becomes available, making it easier for campers to secure a spot.

Additionally, 37 new seasonal sites will be available for booking, including two full-service sites in Good Spirit Lake, eight electric sites in Buffalo Pound, a mix of 18 electric and non-electric sites in Makwa Lake, a mix of four electric and full-service at Meadow Lake and five electric at Moose Mountain.

New Camp-Easy yurts have been added at Pike Lake, Good Spirit Lake, and Greenwater Lake Provincial Parks, with a new yurt replacing the old Camp-Easy tent in Crooked Lake.

It seems like the 2023 camping season in Saskatchewan’s Provincial Parks is shaping up to be a great one, with new features and amenities and a wide range of sites available for reservations.

So, mark your calendars and get ready to start planning your summer getaway in the great outdoors!
