New Kid On The Block: EJH Events And Distribution Brings Stylish European Outdoor Products to North America

A new vendor is in town, and it takes with it some groundbreaking, unique, and stylish products from Europe.

EJH Events and Distribution is a manufacturing distributor for tents, glamping pods, geodesic domes, and more. The company boasts eye-catching, fresh, and chic products that were all made in Europe. Today, EJH is breaking into the scene as it enters the North American market.

We’re pretty excited about what we can achieve on this side of the Atlantic,” said EJH Events and Distribution Founder and Managing Partner Edward Haynes in an interview with Modern Campground.

Haynes built the start-up company believing that “there has got to be a niche market for people that want something different.” Originally from the United Kingdom, Haynes migrated to Canada to work for a tent and event rental company in Edmonton. In October 2019, Haynes decided to lead his own path and founded EJH Events and Distribution. He then flew to Europe, not to call it a day, but to look for a manufacturer to introduce to the North American market.

“Basically, what we try and do at EJH, is find the coolest, newest, weirdest, wackiest products that are out there in Europe; we fly to meet them; we get the rights to their products in North America, and then we work with them to sell their products over here,” Haynes shared.

“The idea is that once we’ve proven to them that the market is here, then they will allow us to move manufacturing to Canada for the North American markets,” he added.

Haynes remains optimistic about moving manufacturing to Canada, noting that it helps with sustainability by cutting out shipping and also creates job opportunities in the local scene.

He also shared that the company is adamant about bringing the manufacturing locally as soon as possible due to COVID prolonging the timelines and making prices a lot more expensive. He then added that manufacturers have nothing to worry about in terms of their products getting copied.

“That’s not what we’re about. These people have made incredible products, and we’ve made promises to each other. We’ve promised them that we will put our best foot forward for them in North America. They’ve promised us that if we sell enough of the product, then they will help us set up manufacturing over here. The manufacturing would still be controlled by the manufacturer,” Haynes said.

During the interview with Modern Campground, the founder shared that the company currently has three European manufacturers, which they consider “phenomenal in every essence.”

Creative Structures is their number one manufacturer, providing distinctive and contemporary design, rounded shapes, and robust tubular structures. Dutch company De Waard makes sustainable products that Haynes considers “incredibly high quality” and cost-effective as well. The third and latest addition to their manufacturing pool is Tubbo which EJH hopes to showcase before Christmas.

The new distributing company is firm in its goal to introduce unique outdoor products.

“I want us to be the first phone call that people make when they think, ‘I wonder what they’ve got that’s different because that’s what we want to be,” Haynes said. “I don’t want people to be calling me and busting us on price or this, that, or the other. I want people to be calling me and going; what have you got different this year?”

In its effort to do so, EJH Events and Distribution picked the three manufacturers, prioritizing two things in mind: that all three are very different and that each caters to different parts of the market.

According to Edward Haynes, DeWaard is their manufacturer for camping and glamping. Creative Structures is for event structures and permanent venue structures. Tubbo is exclusively for brand activation and hospitality.

Edward Haynes and Gerald Brown currently manage EJH Events and Distribution. Their newest member, Jacob Marler, acts as the brand’s Account Manager and Sales Associate, and their family keeps on growing.

Born out of a combined 50 years in the event management, sales, and tenting industry, EJH is the new kid on the block in North America. The North American market has a lot to look forward to in the coming years as EJH is just beginning.

“We’re not just trying to build our own company, but we are trying to get better products in North America,” said Haynes.
