The Canadian Camping and RV Association (CCRVA) has launched a national propane buying program in partnership with Superior Propane, providing campground operators across Canada with access to negotiated pricing and a centralized supply framework.
The program allows members to leverage pooled national purchasing power to secure propane at group rates, an effort aimed at reducing exposure to market volatility and seasonal price fluctuations.
The initiative targets one of the most significant operating costs for campgrounds, where propane is widely used for heating, hot water, cooking, and other guest services.
According to a press release, Cara Csizmadia, president of the CCRVA, said the program is designed to address ongoing cost pressures across the sector.
“Energy costs are a major consideration for campground operators across the country. By negotiating a national program with Superior Propane, we’re giving our members access to competitive pricing, reliable supply, and the confidence that comes with working with a trusted national partner,” Csizmadia said.
“This is exactly the kind of initiative that strengthens our industry and supports campground businesses for the long term,” Csizmadia added.
The program is available exclusively to association members and participating provincial campground associations. It includes fixed-rate pricing intended to provide cost predictability, along with access to a national distribution network to support supply reliability.
Superior Propane will administer the program, with campground operators enrolling directly through the company to access the negotiated pricing structure. The company, which has operated since 1951, serves customers across North America and maintains a broad delivery network throughout Canada.
Rene Vandriel, strategic account executive at Superior Propane, said the partnership is structured to provide operational stability for campground businesses.
“We are excited to work alongside CCRVA to support campground operators across Canada. Our national infrastructure, reliable supply network, and industry expertise allow us to deliver the stability and service that businesses depend on,” Vandriel said.
The program is part of its broader efforts to support campground operators through industry partnerships and cost-management initiatives.
