Canadian Camping Appreciation Weekend To Push Through Sept. 10-12

The Canadian Camping Appreciation Weekend will carry on on its scheduled date on Sept. 10-12.

The event is a national initiative coordinated by the Canadian Camping and RV Council (CCRVC) to thank their campers for their patronage over the past camping season and to help celebrate the Camping and RV lifestyle.

Joining the event are private campgrounds in Canada from coast to coast. Discounted programs will also be offered in support of Care Camps, a charity that sends Canadian kids battling cancer to specialized oncology camps where they can enjoy nature, childhood, and fun.

CCRVC saw the opportunity to support Care Camps and help them with their mandate to give children with cancer the opportunity to camp as a privilege and something we wanted to be part of.

“We are honored and proud that Care Camps has chosen us as a partner and we look forward to continuing our relationship,” Cara Csizmadia (CCRVC’s membership benefits coordinator) said.

Campers have the opportunity to receive a weekend stay offer for two nights and a third night at half off at participating campgrounds. Half of the third night’s revenue will be donated to Care Camps to help kids with cancer go camping to find hope and healing in the outdoors.

The COVID 19 epidemic has made camping more important as more Canadians look at it as a way to be outdoors safely and responsibly.” Shane Devenish is the executive director of CCRVC.

Campgrounds offer families the chance to spend time together, make lifelong memories and explore Canada’s natural beauty. They have been an opportunity for families to have fun and have proven to be as vital to their well-being as they have been in the past 2 years.”
