RED Mountain Resort, nestled in the town of Rossland, British Columbia, unveiled plans for a major expansion that aims to transform the destination into a year-round adventure hub. The centerpiece of this project is the new RED Mountain Bike Park, a multi-year, multimillion-dollar investment that will bring mountain biking trails to the region.
Construction began on July 2, marking the first phase of a four-year development plan. The project is set to unfold around the Silverlode Chair, offering a diverse range of trails catering to riders of all skill levels.
According to a press release, the official opening of Phase 1 of the RED Mountain Bike Park is scheduled for Summer 2025. This initial phase will feature a mix of new and refurbished trails.
RED Mountain Resort partnered with Gravity Logic, a company in bike park design and development. Gravity Logic’s expertise encompasses the creation and enhancement of over 70 bike parks worldwide.
“We are thrilled to announce the development of the RED Mountain Bike Park, marking not just a pivotal moment in our commitment to offering year-round adventure, but building upon and supporting the already deep culture of biking here in the region,” Howard Katkov, CEO and owner of RED Mountain Resort, said. “Acting as a true cornerstone to the growth of recreational opportunities year-round, it will put the spotlight on RED and Rossland as a true basecamp for all seasons of adventure.”
Andrew Lunt, general manager of RED Mountain Resort, expressed excitement about partnering with Gravity Logic, highlighting their “unparalleled experience” with iconic projects like Whistler’s bike park and their involvement in over 70 bike parks globally, which ensures the development will deliver “world-class trails for riders of all levels.”
To enhance the biking experience, RED Mountain also teamed up with Rocky Mountain Bikes to offer a dedicated rental bike fleet at the mountain base. Alongside the bike park, RED Mountain planned to further develop Granite Mountain with additional sightseeing trail loops.
