As part of the Victorian (Australia) government’s commitment to boost state tourism, holidaymakers will get AU$200 of their holiday expenses covered.
As per a report, the state’s travel vouchers offer successful applicants a AU$200 reimbursement for trips within the state for those who exceed AU$400 in associated expenses.
Travelers must stay in paid accommodation like hotels and serviced apartments and campsites or caravan parks for a minimum of two nights to cover the cost.
Vouchers nabbed this week — expected to be 140,000 — will need to be used for travel between April 8 and May 27.
The latest round will be launched with a ballot specifically targeted towards older Victorians who might have missed out on how fast tickets were snatched in previous rounds.
For eligibility, residents should have an active Victorian Seniors Card or Seniors Business Discount Card.
Tourism Minister Martin Pakula said the new launch would give struggling tourism operators an extra boost.
“This fourth round of the program gives them another chance to experience the best our state has to offer,” he said.
“Our state has some of the best destinations and attractions in the world, and we’re encouraging Victorians to discover something new and also support local businesses and jobs.”
To date, over AU$159 million have been used for accommodation, tours, and other experiences across the state.
