Australia’s RV Market Adopts Secop’s BD-Nano Compressor for Enhanced Cooling

Australia’s recreational vehicle (RV) refrigeration industry is currently witnessing a significant shift with the adoption of Secop’s BD-Nano compressor, a move that marks a departure from traditional 3-way absorption refrigerators to more advanced compressor refrigerators.

This transition is driven by the need for more efficient, faster cooling solutions suitable for the RV lifestyle. The BD-Nano compressor is leading this transformation by offering superior cooling performance and energy efficiency.

Compared to traditional systems that can take up to eight hours to cool, the BD-Nano equipped refrigerators cool in under two hours and maintain stable, low temperatures, even in high ambient conditions. This rapid cooling capability is essential for travelers who require reliable refrigeration on the move.

Designed for efficiency, the BD-Nano compressor is notable for its compact size, standing just 93mm tall and weighing only 1.5kg. Despite its small dimensions, it does not compromise on performance, delivering cooling power with high efficiency rated at up to 1.56 W/W under ASHRAE LBP conditions, as reported by Future Five.

Its operation is also quieter by 6 dB/A compared to its predecessor, the BD Micro, which enhances the user experience by reducing noise and vibration.

The compressor is controlled by an advanced Electronic Controller Unit (ECU) that allows for a broad range of electronic interface functions and is compatible with LIN hardware through a simple Modbus interface. Customization is facilitated by Secop’s free Tool4Cool software, which provides users with the ability to tailor the compressor’s operations to their specific needs.

Produced in a highly automated, IATF16949-certified facility in Tianjin, China, the BD-Nano reflects Secop’s commitment to quality and innovation. This certification, received in December 2023, underscores the plant’s compliance with stringent automotive industry standards, ensuring that each compressor is built to the highest specifications.

Beyond its use in RVs, the BD-Nano’s robust design also makes it suitable for a variety of mobile applications across the automotive sector, including cars, electric vehicles, trucks, buses, and boats. Its compliance with ISO16750 for reduced knocking noise, vibration, and improved transport stability makes it a versatile choice for various mobile cooling needs.

With the rising demand for efficient and effective mobile cooling solutions, the BD-Nano compressor stands ready to meet these needs, providing a significant boost to the RV market in Australia and potentially setting new standards for mobile refrigeration globally.

For more information on the BD-Nano compressor and its applications, industry professionals and consumers alike are encouraged to explore further details and technical specifications, ensuring they are informed about the latest advancements in RV refrigeration technology.
