Bundaberg Region Hosts Over 1,000 Visitors for CMCA 39th National Rally

The Bundaberg Region in Queensland, Australia, received over 1,000 visitors from across the country last weekend as the Campervan and Motorhome Club of Australia opened its 39th National Rally at the Bundaberg Recreational Precinct.

The eight-day event, underway this week, features more than 600 campervans and motorhomes gathering to celebrate RV travel and community.

Throughout the week, the rally provides attendees with a schedule of entertainment, seminars, activities, tours, trade exhibits, and social events. Bundaberg Region Mayor Helen Blackburn noted the local government’s satisfaction in accommodating the CMCA community and its members, according to an article by BRC Now.

“We’re delighted to host the CMCA 39th National Rally at the Bundaberg Recreational Precinct and showcase everything our region has to offer,” Blackburn said.

“Events of this scale provide significant benefits for our community, supporting local businesses, attractions and tourism operators while demonstrating Bundaberg’s reputation as a welcoming and visitor-friendly destination.”

The Bundaberg Recreational Precinct operates as a community space maintained by ongoing municipal investment.

The facility regularly hosts varied gatherings, including the Bundaberg Show, Agrotrend, national dog shows, equestrian competitions, markets, and touring entertainment productions.

“The Bundaberg Recreational Precinct is much more than a venue, it’s a place where communities come together, and we’re proud to see it continue attracting events that deliver social and economic benefits for our region,” Blackburn said.

CMCA CEO Richard Barwick indicated that the organization planned to return to the Bundaberg Region following its previous visit in 2017.

“I can honestly say that I consider it one of the best in Australia for activities like ours,” Barwick said. “Events like these take 12 to 15 months to organise, [and] the caretaker at the grounds was brilliant to work with.”

Barwick observed that attendees are engaging with both on-site programs and external attractions throughout the region.

“Club members have enjoyed many activities so far, including out of rally activities, some of our wonderful supporters like Bundaberg Rum have had a lot of visitation,” Barwick said. “The boost to local economy is enormous, as well as enquiry about new vans, housing and investment opportunities.”

Local businesses are encouraged to engage with the influx of travelers, as visitors plan to explore area attractions, book tours, dine at restaurants, and shop in neighboring towns.

Additional information regarding the organization and its events is available on the CMCA website.
