A new luxurious rustic glamping experience is coming soon to Fayoum’s Wadi El Rayan Protectorate (Egypt).
Remal el Rayan will bring the ultimate glamping experience to the home of some of Egypt‘s most astonishing natural wonders.
Situated in the heart of Fayoum, a treasure trove of ecological hotspots, old-fashioned waterways, and unspoiled deserts has earned it a name as a popular eco-tourism spot in the region.
A miniature representation of Fayoum’s vast and varied terrain, Remal el Rayan gives a rustic style that meets chic minimalism.
According to a report, the new glamping facility will open soon.
The camp’s stunning beachwood exterior, marble accents, and neutral color scheme stand in stark contrast to the straightforward, back-to-basics camps scattered throughout Fayoum.
Remal el Rayan aims to take the leap in terms of a desert camping experience by providing seven private domes with the luxurious indoor facilities you’d expect from a traditional hotel. The lavish bedding, en-suite bathroom, a minibar, and outdoor jacuzzi will leave you asking, “how’s all this feasible in the middle of the desert?”
The road to get there wasn’t simple, according to founder and admitted desert lover Mohamed Tahoun, “I got the idea for the camp about five years ago. It took me more than three years to get the right permissions from the Ministry of Environment given we’re in a protected area, Wadi el Ryan,” Tahoun said in an interview.
“We had to follow strict regulations to ensure everything is eco-friendly from the building materials to our energy consumption,” Tahoun added.
Respecting its protectorate, Remal el Rayan was constructed with locally-sourced and environmentally sustainable materials. They even went as far as acquiring stones from the surrounding deserts to incorporate into the infrastructure.
This luxurious experience authenticates the local heritage, even naming the on-site restaurant “Lummaya,” which means “water” in the local Fayoumi dialect.
When you wake up, you’ll be able to enjoy the breathtaking panorama of the desert of Wadi El Rayan, which is dotted with impressive sandstone sculptures and a delightful smattering of greenery in the privacy of your dome.
In the evening, the camp is alive with an inviting yellow glow that extends into the surroundings, allowing visitors to admire the beautiful night landscape and stargaze under the stars.
With a desert as a backyard, Remal el Rayan has an array of thrilling adventures and activities, from beach buggies and sandboarding to zip-lining and 4×4 adventures.
