Six French Campsites Receive Recognition at 2026 SETT Awards

Six French campsites and their managers were recognized at the 2026 SETT Awards, held Nov. 4 during the SETT trade show in Montpellier, France. The awards, organized in partnership with industry magazine L’Officiel des Terrains de Camping (L’OT), recognized initiatives across six categories, including entertainment, environmental management, landscaping, family-oriented operations, unique accommodations, and location.

Now in its sixth edition, the SETT Awards recognize campsite operators for their contributions to the outdoor hospitality sector and their efforts to develop visitor experiences. The 2026 competition also introduced changes to its judging process, industry partnerships, and winner benefits.

Camping du Lac de la Seigneurie in Territoire de Belfort, Bourgogne-Franche-Comté, received the SETT Award for Entertainment. The category was supported by Team Spirit Animation and IDB. Domaine Le Clos des Capitelles in Gard, Occitanie, received the Ecology Award, supported by Sud Loisirs Services.

Camping Les Douces Nuits in Gers, Occitanie, was recognized in the Green Spaces category, with support from Vostres Vivers. Camping Les Actinidias in Ardèche, Rhône-Alpes, received the Family-Generation Award, supported by Horizon Marketing.

Camping Figurotta in Aude, Occitanie, won the Unique Stays category, with support from Technic Conseils, while Camping Bellevue in Isère, Rhône-Alpes, received the Dream Location Award, supported by Eurotex.

The six categories reflect different areas of campsite management and development, from guest entertainment and accommodation offerings to environmental practices and the maintenance of outdoor spaces. For operators, the awards also provide examples of how individual aspects of a property’s operations can contribute to its market positioning and guest experience.

The 2026 edition introduced several changes to the competition. One addition involved financial support from exhibiting companies, which provided prizes for the winners. Each recognized campsite received a €500 gift voucher, excluding VAT, from an exhibitor associated with its award category. The initiative was designed to provide tangible rewards for the projects and operational efforts recognized by the competition.

The event also established a media partnership with L’Officiel des Terrains de Camping, which will provide dedicated coverage of each winner through articles, feature stories, or reports in its magazine and digital channels. A representative from the publication also joined the awards jury, adding an industry media perspective to the evaluation process.

The jury was expanded for the sixth edition and included professionals from five regional outdoor hospitality federations partnering with the trade show. These represented Auvergne, Bourgogne-Franche-Comté, Corsica, Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur (PACA), and Rhône-Alpes.

The expanded jury structure brings together professionals from different regional markets, providing a broader perspective on campsite initiatives and operational practices across France.

The SETT trade show was founded in 1978 and is led by the Occitanie Outdoor Hospitality Federation in collaboration with five regional partner federations: Auvergne, Bourgogne-Franche-Comté, Corsica, PACA, and Rhône-Alpes. The event has developed into a major European meeting point for tourism and hospitality professionals, with visitors from countries including Spain, the Netherlands, Italy, Germany, Belgium, and Portugal.

In 2026, SETT also introduced the Sett Hospitality brand, reflecting an expansion of the trade show’s scope beyond traditional outdoor hospitality. The initiative responds to the increasing convergence between the hotel, café, and restaurant sectors and outdoor accommodation businesses.

Under the expanded positioning, the event aims to serve decision-makers from campsites, hotels, cafés, restaurants, gîtes, and beach businesses. Its offerings cover areas ranging from interior design and facility development to outdoor hospitality solutions and operational expertise.

The trade show also hosts the Sett d’Or competition, which recognizes developments and innovations in the hospitality sector, alongside conferences examining industry trends and changes in professional practices.

For campground and RV resort operators, the SETT Awards provide a view of the operational priorities being recognized in the French outdoor hospitality market. The six categories highlight areas that businesses can consider when evaluating their own development strategies, particularly guest programming, environmental management, landscaping, accommodation diversification, and location-based positioning.

The 2026 awards also demonstrate how industry trade shows can extend their value beyond product exhibitions by connecting operators with suppliers, regional associations, and media organizations. Through the combination of recognition, exhibitor-supported prizes, and editorial coverage, the competition offers participating businesses additional opportunities for industry visibility and professional engagement.
