OHI will host a Prospective Owners Workshop Nov. 8 in Fort Worth, Texas, featuring Greg Emmert and other instructors covering property evaluation, due diligence, financing, site planning, infrastructure and operations for prospective campground, RV park and glamping owners.
The workshop is scheduled for 2-6 p.m. Central time at the Fort Worth Convention Center, ahead of the Outdoor Hospitality Conference & Expo (OHCE).
According to a LinkedIn post, Emmert will teach participants how to evaluate campground ownership opportunities, identify areas requiring investigation and assess the day-to-day responsibilities associated with operating a property.
Emmert, who has 26 years of experience owning and operating a campground, said prospective buyers should consider operational demands alongside a property’s acreage, site count and asking price.
“Having spent 26 years owning and operating a campground, I know how much the day-to-day reality matters,” Emmert said in a LinkedIn post announcing his participation. “A property can have plenty of potential and still be a poor fit for the life you’re hoping to build.”
His session will address questions buyers should consider before committing to a property, including what to investigate during due diligence and how to connect a property’s projected opportunity with the business they will operate.
The workshop will include other instructors addressing financing, site planning, infrastructure and operations. The program will offer separate discussions for participants interested in purchasing an existing property and those planning to build a campground.
The event is intended for people considering ownership in the outdoor hospitality sector, including campground, RV park and glamping businesses.
OHCE will bring outdoor hospitality professionals together for education, industry connections and discussions on campground management, marketing, guest experience and technology. The conference also emphasizes practical information for operators seeking to develop their businesses and improve park operations.
The Prospective Owners Workshop is part of OHI’s broader conference programming for people at different stages of campground ownership, from those evaluating their first property to individuals planning new developments or expanding existing businesses.
