Danforth Bay, Purity Spring Plan Major Resort Investments Under New Leadership

Danforth Bay Camping & RV Resort and Purity Spring Resort in New Hampshire are planning property upgrades and expanded guest amenities as the Hoyt family introduces a new leadership structure for its hospitality and recreation businesses, including a new base lodge, expanded trails and multimillion-dollar lodging renovations.

The investments are part of a broader development strategy spanning the family-owned businesses, which include King Pine Ski Resort and Tohkomeupog Summer Camp for Boys in Madison, New Hampshire. The family’s hospitality and recreation operations have a 115-year history.

Ali Hoyt has been named managing partner of hospitality and strategy, while Paul J. Morra will serve as managing partner of development, design and brand. They will join managing partners Steven Hoyt and Andrew Mahoney in overseeing the businesses’ next phase of development.

Morra will lead capital planning, master planning and brand development across the properties, with a focus on renovations and improvements to the guest experience. Hoyt will oversee strategic direction, drawing on hospitality industry data and market insights to guide business decisions.

At King Pine, planned long-term projects include expanded trails and a new base lodge with live music and event space, targeted for completion by 2030.

Near-term improvements scheduled for the winter include upgraded snowmaking, a refreshed tavern, new guest lockers, updated trail signage and additional family après-ski experiences. The ski resort is also joining the Indy Pass as a full member this year.

Purity Spring Resort has completed fall renovations at The Inn at Purity Spring Resort, including landscaping, fencing, signage and exterior painting. Additional plans include a multimillion-dollar guest room renovation and an interior renovation of Traditions, the property’s on-site restaurant, in the coming year.

Morra brings experience in creative production and brand development to the role. He founded Swift River Productions and has worked with companies and organizations including Microsoft, Adidas, the NFL and Wynn Resorts. In 2017, he and his brother, Kevin Morra, received a Cannes Gold Lion for their work on Cigna’s “TV Doctors of America” campaign.

Hoyt is a graduate of Cornell University’s School of Hotel Administration and co-founder of Larkspur Hospitality Consulting. She spent much of her career at STR, where she led a consulting team focused on hospitality data and benchmarking, and serves on the board of the International Society of Hospitality Consultants.

The new leadership structure also assigns Steven Hoyt responsibility for property systems and administration, including infrastructure, technology planning and administrative functions.

Mahoney will oversee recreation and guest experience while continuing his responsibilities for Tohkomeupog Summer Camp for Boys and King Pine Ski Resort.
