Dunes Beach Resort Nears August Opening With 38 Glamping Tents in Mindarie

Dunes Beach Resort in Mindarie, Western Australia, has reached practical completion ahead of its anticipated opening later in August 2026, adding a new glamping accommodation option and hospitality facilities to the northern Perth coastline.

The privately funded development, located at 2 Quinns Road, includes 38 ensuite glamping tents, a restaurant and bar, lounge areas, and an event space. Eco Tourism Pty Ltd developed and will operate the resort on land leased from the City of Wanneroo. The project forms part of the local government’s broader efforts to expand tourism and accommodation options across Wanneroo’s northern suburbs.

The resort is positioned near Quinns Beach, Mindarie Marina and other coastal attractions, providing visitors with accommodation within the area rather than relying solely on day-trip visitation. For the local outdoor hospitality market, the development also demonstrates how glamping can be combined with food and beverage, entertainment and event facilities to create multiple sources of guest and visitor revenue.

A central component of the property is Sandara, an all-day café, kiosk, restaurant and bar overlooking the Indian Ocean. According to Perth is OK!, he venue will be available to both resort guests and local visitors and will include open-air seating, shaded alfresco areas, an elevated dining area and a lounge bar.

Dunes will also include the Spin lounge bar, which is planned to host live music, while a separate function space will accommodate up to 240 people for weddings, parties and other events. The combination of overnight accommodation with food and beverage and event facilities gives the resort a broader operating model than a traditional accommodation-only property.

City of Wanneroo Mayor Linda Aitken said the resort would complement existing attractions in the area while increasing accommodation capacity.

“Dunes Beach Resort adds a unique accommodation offering to our coastline while creating another place for locals and visitors to discover Wanneroo,” she said. “It complements the attractions already available in the Quinns Rocks and Mindarie area, supports local jobs and businesses and expands accommodation options in the region.”

Eco Tourism Pty Ltd Director Russell Percival said the company had been involved in the project from its design and construction through to its anticipated opening.

“We are proud to have designed and built this stunning resort and facilities that offers a place where locals and visitors can relax, connect with nature and enjoy everything this beautiful stretch of coastline has to offer,” he said.

With practical completion now achieved, the next stage for the development will be preparing the property and its hospitality operations to receive guests. Its proximity to existing coastal attractions, combined with the on-site restaurant, bar, entertainment and event facilities, could allow the resort to serve both overnight visitors and the local market.

Dunes Beach Resort is anticipated to open later in August 2026.
