DM Vans Sells Out 2026 Model Year Production

DM Vans has sold out its 2026 model year production three months ahead of schedule, a milestone the camper van manufacturer announced as the broader RV industry continues to experience year-over-year declines in shipments and consumer demand.

According to a press release, the company’s production sellout comes as RV wholesale shipments declined 14.4% year to date through May 2026, retail registrations fell nearly 22% in March, and the RV Industry Association (RVIA) reduced its full-year forecast by 8.2%.

May marked the seventh consecutive month of year-over-year declines, according to DM Vans.

The company’s direct-to-consumer model and focus on hand-built vehicles have helped it attract buyers who are taking a more deliberate approach to major purchases. The company builds its Lifestyle Vehicles by hand in Rifle, Colorado, allowing customers to purchase directly from the manufacturer.

“A tighter market makes people more careful with their money, and careful buyers are exactly who we build for,” Matt Felser, co-founder and president of DM Vans, said.

“The people who chose DM Vans this year did their homework. They know who built their van, and they trust us to stand behind it. We build every one by hand in Rifle, Colorado, and most of us use these vans the same way our customers do, so we know exactly what needs to hold up. In a year like this one, selling out tells me trust is worth more than ever,” Felser said.

DM Vans said the company’s customers are seeking greater confidence in high-value purchases, with camper van purchases often exceeding $100,000.

“They want to understand what they’re buying, who built it, and whether the company will stand behind it. DM Vans’ sell-out is a signal that when a quality product from a trusted and respected brand becomes a deciding factor, the market moves toward the manufacturer that has demonstrated both,” the press release stated.

With its 2026 model year fully committed, DM Vans is accepting deposits for its 2027 lineup.

The company was co-founded by Dave Ramsay, a former Wall Street executive, and Felser, a former teacher. DM Vans said it has built more than 750 hand-built vans over eight years and sells factory-direct without dealer markup. The company also said every build receives RVIA certification.
