Catgill Farm Expands Glamping Options with Themed Pods in Yorkshire Dales

Catgill Farm, located in the Yorkshire Dales, has developed a glamping and camping site offering themed accommodations beyond the traditional pods. Guests can choose from Moroccan and Alpine-themed pods, each designed for different experiences.

The Alpine pod includes a converted ski lift cart repurposed as a dining booth, while the Moroccan pod accommodates up to four people with a double bed and a bunk bed.

For travelers with pets, the site offers The Duck glamping pod, which includes an enclosed outdoor area for dogs. All pods include private log-fired hot tubs, and fire pits are available for evening use. The site also provides two luxury bell tents, sleeping up to four, offering a more traditional camping experience with views of the surrounding Dales.

Catgill Farm operates a campsite open from April through October, featuring 34 electrical hookup pitches for tents. The location is a designated dark skies area, allowing for stargazing, and guests can enjoy morning yoga sessions alongside on-site alpacas.

The site includes modern shower blocks, a washing-up area, and a small shop supplying essentials such as air beds, coffee, milk, and kindling. Cat’s Kitchen, located on-site, serves hot drinks and wood-fired pizzas.

The surrounding area provides access to walking and cycling routes, including those used in the Tour de France and Tour de Yorkshire. Bolton Abbey Station, part of the Embsay and Bolton Steam Railway, is a short walk from the campsite.

Tickets to travel to the halfway station and return cost £17 per adult, according to The Sun. Nearby attractions include the remains of Bolton Abbey and the Devonshire Arms brasserie-style pub.

Catgill Farm also partners with local attractions, offering visitors 10% off Shipton Canal Boat Trips and entry to Stump Cross Caverns. Accommodation prices begin at £179.99 per night for a glamping pod and £14 per night for a grass tent pitch. The site regularly hosts events, including seasonal activities such as an Easter trail.

For outdoor hospitality professionals, Catgill Farm demonstrates how themed accommodations, pet-friendly options, and partnerships with local attractions can create a diverse product offering that appeals to both domestic and international travelers.

Incorporating unique features such as hot tubs, yoga with alpacas, and access to historical sites may provide insight into experiential offerings that can enhance guest satisfaction and increase occupancy.
