Michigan’s Up North region is set to gain a new family-focused campground as Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Park Camp-Resorts location prepares to open April 24 in Ogemaw County.
The park, located at 3070 Elm Drive in West Branch, marks the brand’s sixth site in Michigan.
The property, formerly known as Outdoor Adventure Lake of the North Resort and Campground, has been acquired by new owners who also operate the Jellystone Park in Grayling, Michigan.
Reservations are now being accepted for the upcoming camping season.
The West Branch campground, branded as Jellystone Park Lake of the North, is situated on Lake George and will offer RV sites and cottages. The park is pet-friendly and includes amenities such as a swimming pool and beach access.
Camp-Resorts under the Jellystone Park brand are known for attractions including pools, mini golf and organized family activities such as foam parties and wagon rides, along with character appearances by Yogi Bear, Boo Boo and Cindy Bear.
The brand operates more than 75 franchised locations across the United States and Canada in partnership with Warner Bros. Discovery Global Experiences.
In addition to the new Ogemaw County park and the Grayling location, Michigan Jellystone Park sites operate in Frankenmuth, North Port Huron, Petoskey and South Haven.
The Lake of the North property will also feature a schedule of themed weekends throughout the season, beginning with Wake Up the Bears Weekend on opening day and including events such as Christmas in July.
“We are so excited to be bringing Jellystone Park to the Up North,” Marley Behnke, co-owner, said in a press release.
“This resort already has so many great features. With all the new activities we are adding families will create memories that will last forever,” Behnke added.
Additional on-site amenities include a mini golf course, kayaks and paddle boards, a fishing lake, live entertainment, a playground, volleyball, horseshoes and a game room.
Seasonal RV sites are available starting at $3,750, with optional boat and side-by-side storage.
