Siwash Lake Wilderness Resort & Ranch to Launch Spirit of Equus in May 2026

Siwash Lake Wilderness Resort & Ranch has announced the launch of Spirit of Equus, a new equine wellbeing experience scheduled to begin in May 2026. The program is being introduced to coincide with the Year of the Fire Horse and will be available year-round at the British Columbia ranch.

According to the resort, the Year of the Fire Horse is associated with strength, freedom, and transformation.

The launch theme reflects recent years at the property, where wildfire reshaped parts of the surrounding landscape, and regeneration is ongoing. Resort leadership said the program is intended to align with both the natural recovery of the land and its long-standing approach to horsemanship.

Spirit of Equus is guided by fourth-generation rancher and Owner and General Manager Allyson Rogers. The experience is built around the ranch’s equine philosophy, SiwashSynergy™, which emphasizes groundwork, observation, and relationship-building before riding takes place.

Participants begin by spending time with the horses on the ground, observing herd dynamics, grooming, and walking alongside them. The program is designed for individuals, couples, and small private groups and integrates into the broader guest stay rather than functioning as a fixed-schedule retreat.

A central component of the experience involves quiet time with the herd. The resort states that horses are highly attuned to subtle changes in the human nervous system and can sense shifts in breath, tension, and emotional state.

Through this interaction, guests may experience a slowing of breath and a change in physical posture. Riding, when included, is described as intentional and unforced, with guided movement through the regenerating wilderness surrounding Siwash Lake.

Daily activities may include mindfulness sessions overlooking the landscape, journaling, walking meditation, and time by the lake. Evenings often conclude with campfire gatherings in proximity to the horses. The program is positioned as a new format for engaging with the ranch’s existing equine and land-based offerings rather than a standalone seasonal event.

For outdoor hospitality and ranch resort operators, the launch of Spirit of Equus highlights several industry trends: the integration of wellness programming into core operations, the use of land stewardship narratives following climate-related events, and the development of small-group, experience-led offerings that extend shoulder-season demand.

By introducing a year-round product tied to a specific launch date in May 2026 and a broader cultural theme, Siwash Lake Wilderness Resort & Ranch is leveraging storytelling, regenerative land management, and equine-based engagement to differentiate its guest experience in a competitive experiential travel market.

As experiential travel continues to intersect with wellness and nature-based programming, Spirit of Equus provides an example of how equestrian properties can formalize philosophy-driven interactions into structured offerings while maintaining operational flexibility and alignment with place.
