Ty Gwyn Acquires Cheshire Caravan Park with April Reopening Planned

A North Wales-based family business has acquired a caravan park in Cheshire and announced plans for investment and redevelopment ahead of a planned reopening later this spring.

Ty Gwyn, headquartered in Abergele, has purchased Fishpool Farm Caravan Park in Delamere. The site has been renamed Fishpool Holiday Park under its new ownership. The company, described as a third-generation family business and one of the UK’s longest-established holiday park operators, said bookings are now being accepted.

According to the new owners, the park is undergoing a programme of infrastructure improvements that includes groundworks, drainage and landscaping. The first tranche of new caravan stock has already been delivered to the site.

Following the completion of these works and the installation of a mix of new lodges and caravans, the park is scheduled to reopen towards the end of April.

According to InsiderMedia, the redevelopment plan includes accommodation for both rental and sale, with caravans and lodges to be offered directly by the company.

The park will also continue to provide facilities for touring caravans and motorhomes on both seasonal and nightly bases. Some of the new lodges will be solar-enabled, and electric vehicle charging points are planned as part of the upgrade.

Victory Leisure Homes is supplying the new caravans and lodges, while its sister company Rix is overseeing the solar installations. Sykes has been appointed to manage bookings for the park.

Rhodri Owen, a director of Ty Gwyn, said: “We are looking forward to welcoming new holiday makers to Fishpool Holiday Park after the completion of our programme of works, which are already well underway.

“We believe that the new site will provide aspirational holiday makers and their dogs with a wonderful base for their holiday with the choice of holiday lodges and caravans, and pitches for touring caravans.”

“The holiday park is set in five acres, close to the pretty village of Tarporley and with Chester just a few miles further away.”

“We are also fortunate to be on the doorstep of Delamere Forest, one of the region’s most popular leisure destinations, offering something for all ages.”

The acquisition reflects ongoing consolidation and reinvestment activity within the UK holiday park sector, particularly among established family operators expanding their regional footprint.

For business owners in the outdoor hospitality and caravan sectors, the project highlights several operational considerations, including phased infrastructure upgrades ahead of peak season, supplier partnerships for new stock and renewable energy integration, and the use of third-party booking management platforms.

The inclusion of solar-enabled lodges and EV charging also signals a continued shift toward sustainability measures that may influence guest expectations and long-term operating costs.

Fishpool Holiday Park’s reopening towards the end of April positions the site to capture demand at the start of the late spring and early summer trading period.
