William’s Den, a farm-based attraction in North Cave, East Yorkshire, has expanded its offerings with the launch of a toddler-focused play area and a new glamping site ahead of the summer season.
The attraction, which recently received the Small Farm Attraction of the Year award from the National Farm Attractions Network, opened the new facilities in time for the May half-term holiday.
The additions are designed to enhance the visitor experience and cater to families with young children.
The toddler play zone incorporates natural and inclusive elements tailored to early childhood development.
New features include the “Little Slide and Hut,” a timber structure with a gentle slide, and the “Bouncing Flower,” a spring-mounted play piece aimed at helping children develop balance and coordination.
Other installations, such as the “Toddler’s Table,” “Mud Kitchen and Plant Box,” and various active play components like the “Totter Trail,” “Totter Beam,” and “Swinging Horses,” offer multi-sensory, physical, and social engagement opportunities for toddlers.
Additionally, sound cushions and musical elements such as triangles are integrated into the space to encourage tactile and auditory exploration, according to a report by The Sun.
According to the attraction, each element has been purposefully selected to promote toddlers’ emotional, physical, and social development.
In conjunction with the new play facilities, William’s Den has introduced a glamping option with six bell tents now available for bookings.
The tents, which accommodate up to four people, are priced at £355 for a two-night stay. Launching during the May half-term, these tents are designed with family-friendly features and decorated interiors aimed at providing comfort alongside a rural camping experience.
Families visiting William’s Den can also access a variety of other attractions, including the “Indoor Den,” a space where children can climb and build, as well as outdoor activities like zip lining and woodland exploration.
General admission starts at £7.95 per adult and £11.95 per child who uses the play areas.
For outdoor hospitality operators and glamping business owners, William’s Den provides an example of how combining immersive play environments with quality family accommodations can create added value and enhance visitor dwell time.
The integration of development-focused features into the play area, along with an on-site glamping option, may serve as a model for attracting and retaining family visitors through a diversified offering that blends recreation with lodging.
