POMEROY — Kountry Resort Campground, just outside Pomeroy has been highlighted as an Ohio Business Spotlight honoree. Frank LaRose, Ohio Secretary of State, named the campground as the honoree.
They recognized six businesses throughout the state for the month. These included unique outdoor recreation businesses.
LaRose stated in a press release that Ohio offers a wide range of outdoor recreation options. “While tourism and travel faced many challenges last season, we are now all looking for unique ways to enjoy the outdoors with our loved ones.” These experiences will last a lifetime, whether it’s ziplining in Hocking Hills or catching a large fish on Lake Erie.
Enjoy fishing, boating, and camping at the Kountry Resort Campground. They also have cabins and RV hookups. It also offers spaces for weddings.
Andy and Tess Campbell, the owners, have made improvements to several aspects of the campsites and cabins. They also added new activities and features to the campground, such as the Aqua Park.
The aqua park is open to groups, and there are picnic areas as well as camping grills available for use.
The water park is open 7 days a week from noon to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. The admission fee is $10 for the whole day. Reduced admission is available for campers and after 4 p.m.
No age limit is required, so anyone can enjoy the slides, climbing wall, and other attractions of the park. To enjoy the park, participants must be at least 44 inches tall. Visitors can use life jackets on-site.
You can rent kayaks for a day on the water, and you can also rent the pavilion or banquet hall for any size gathering.
You can rent a camper spot for the weekend, or for the entire season. Cabin rentals are also available to take you on a vacation to the natural world.
According to the website, Kountry Resort Campground can be found on approximately 98 acres. It is just three miles from West Virginia’s state line and the Ohio River. Kountry Resort Campground offers activities for all ages. Anglers love to pull trophies from four lakes that are stocked with catfish and crappie as well as bluegill. Others enjoy playing basketball, volleyball, or horseshoes.
