In a surprising turn of events, the large RV industry has unveiled a well-built, off-road capable trailer that is turning heads and challenging preconceptions. The Lance Enduro Camper, sold by Affinity RV in Prescott, Arizona, is a game-changer in the world of outdoor adventure.
The first thing that catches the eye is the trailer’s robust exoskeleton. Unlike conventional RVs, which are glued and screwed together, the Enduro’s panels slide into slots in the steel frame, creating a sturdy, off-road capable structure. The trailer’s composite panel construction ensures durability, preventing delamination and other common issues.
The Enduro’s exterior features are equally impressive. A swing-away arm holds a full-size spare tire, catering to the off-road crowd. The trailer’s outdoor kitchen is constructed entirely of aluminum, preventing rot and warping. It includes a two-burner Dometic camp stove and full-glide drawers, providing a convenient and durable outdoor cooking experience.
The trailer also boasts a 40-gallon freshwater tank and a 30-gallon grey tank. Instead of traditional cabinets, the Enduro utilizes military-grade Molle panels, both inside and out, providing a customizable storage solution that can handle heavy outdoor gear.
The Enduro doesn’t skimp on storage. It features a large steel box at the front, complete with a rubber gasket to protect items from the elements. Additionally, a tray above the box allows for the storage of items like firewood, keeping the interior free of dirt and debris.
One of the standout features of the Enduro is its 12-volt Truma refrigerator, which can be accessed from both inside and outside the trailer. This feature, combined with the trailer’s large hatch and pass-through, makes outdoor cooking a breeze while keeping odors away from the sleeping areas.
Inside, the Enduro continues to impress. The interior is spacious and customizable, with open spaces and Molle panels replacing traditional cabinets and drawers. The trailer’s interior panels are made from formaldehyde-free europly cabinetry, eliminating off-gassing. The seating area converts easily into a bed, providing comfortable sleeping space for two adults.
The Enduro’s bathroom is another highlight. It features a cassette toilet, eliminating the need for a heavy black tank. The shower is spacious enough for a tall adult to stand comfortably, and the bathroom cabinet is waterproof, providing ample storage for towels and other necessities.
Despite its many impressive features, the Enduro does have a few potential drawbacks. Its dry weight of 3,500 pounds is about double that of most top-dollar Overland trailers. Additionally, the trailer’s height of 9.875 feet may pose challenges when maneuvering through tighter areas on the trail and will not fit in a standard garage.
The Lance Enduro Camper is a testament to innovation and quality in the large RV industry. While it may not be the perfect fit for everyone, its robust build, off-road capabilities, and thoughtful design make it a compelling option for those seeking a new kind of outdoor adventure.
