Gulf Stream BT Cruiser 5210 Review: Compact RV with Big Features

In the vast world of recreational vehicles (RVs), the Gulf Stream BT Cruiser 5210 stands out as a compact marvel. Built on the robust Ford E-350 chassis, this Class C RV measures a mere 22.5 feet in length but packs a punch with its features, making it a favorite among travelers seeking both comfort and maneuverability.

The BT Cruiser 5210’s interior is designed with practicality in mind. Two jackknife sofas, equipped with three seatbelts each, can comfortably seat six passengers. By night, these sofas transform into cozy sleeping spaces. The design ensures that occupants can easily access the bathroom without disturbing a sleeping partner. For those who prefer a more traditional bed feel, a mattress topper can be added.

Entertainment and work are equally catered to. A sizable TV, which can be swiveled for optimal viewing, is accompanied by two ceiling speakers. Charging ports and 120 outlets are strategically placed below the cabinets. Large awning-style windows on either side not only provide a panoramic view but also ensure ventilation even during rain.

The kitchenette boasts a stainless steel sink, a two-burner gas stove, a microwave, and ample storage. Opposite the kitchen is a 12-volt fridge with a separate freezer compartment. But perhaps the most notable feature is the dry bath, a rarity in small RVs. This design ensures that the shower, toilet, and sink are separate, providing a more comfortable and convenient experience.

Tank capacities are generous with 41 gallons for freshwater, and 26 gallons each for gray and black water. A 6-gallon water heater, which can operate on propane or electricity, ensures warm showers. The RV also features a 25,000 BTU propane heater and a ducted air conditioning system.

Storage solutions are abundant, with cabinets, drawers, and an exterior storage bay. Safety is enhanced with side cameras for lane-changing assistance. An awning provides shade for outdoor relaxation.

Beyond the visible features, the BT Cruiser 5210 boasts of a sturdy construction. Gulf Stream Coach, a family-owned independent RV company, ensures quality by extending the chassis and adding steel trusses for weight support. The sidewalls are made of aluminum encased in fiberglass with an Azdel substrate. The RV can carry up to 2,000 pounds and tow an additional 5,000 pounds.

With an MSRP of $129,500, the BT Cruiser 5210 offers value for money, especially considering its features and build quality. However, prices may vary based on dealers.

The Gulf Stream BT Cruiser 5210 is a testament to the fact that size isn’t everything. Its thoughtful design, combined with essential amenities, makes it a top choice for those seeking the RV lifestyle without the bulk.
