Ranchlands recently announced the opening of Paintrock Canyon Ranch, an 80,000-acre luxury guest ranch in the Bighorn Mountains of northern Wyoming. The ranch operates seasonally from May through September, offering guests a unique getaway.
“The goal is for guests at the Paintrock Canyon Ranch to leave with a deep understanding of the rich history of the area and the important role that ranching plays in restoring our natural resources while exploring nooks and crannies that only a few people have ever seen,” Duke Phillips III, founder of Ranchlands, said in a press release.
This announcement aims to offer guests an immersive experience of ranch life and the natural beauty of the surrounding landscape. The ranch provides a variety of activities, including horseback riding, fly fishing, hiking, and the opportunity to explore the vast terrain of the Bighorn Mountains.
The accommodations at Paintrock Canyon Ranch are designed to offer guests comfort while maintaining a close connection to nature. Guests will stay in large, safari-style tents that are furnished with full-sized beds, bedside tables, dressers, and chairs, ensuring a comfortable and stylish outdoor experience.
Ranchlands, the company behind Paintrock Canyon Ranch, has been operating ranch stays in Colorado at Zapata Ranch and Chico Basin Ranch for 24 years.
It is a stark contrast to the Chico Basin and Zapata Ranches and is teeming with rich populations of elk, deer, turkey, and bobcat. Paintrock Creek, the largest aquifer coming from the Bighorns, is home to some of the best trout fly fishing in northern Wyoming,” Phillips III said.
Ranch Vacations at Paintrock Canyon Ranch are available for five nights, while Pack Trips extend to seven nights. Prices for these experiences start at $3,950 per person, which includes all meals, lodging, and activities.
Activities at the ranch are designed to cater to a range of interests, from horseback riding across different ecosystems to learning about Native American petroglyphs and enjoying some of the best trout fly fishing in northern Wyoming. The 7-night Pack Trips offer an extended adventure into the backcountry of the Bighorn National Forest, with accommodations in backpacking tents and the luxury of hot showers and meals prepared over a campfire.
