Kampgrounds of America (KOA) announced Kevin and Brenda Larson as the new owners of Rawlins KOA Journey in Wyoming. With years of RV travel experience and a passion for the outdoors, the Larsons bring extensive expertise to the popular campground located along I-80.
The Rawlins KOA Journey has long served as a convenient stop for travelers, situated near the Continental Divide Trail and the TransAmerica Trail. Its strategic location in southern Wyoming provides easy access to numerous outdoor attractions and national parks, appealing to road-trippers and outdoor enthusiasts alike.
“Brenda and I are thrilled to take on ownership of the Rawlins KOA Journey and continue its tradition of providing great hospitality to travelers and outdoor lovers,” Kevin, the new campground owner, said in a press release. “Our location offers a great blend of convenience and access to world-class outdoor activities, and I’m excited to share that with our guests.”
KOA Journey campgrounds are also designed for travelers seeking convenient and hassle-free stays. Amenities at the Rawlins KOA Journey include long pull-thru RV sites with 50-amp service, tent sites with power, and cabins for those preferring extra comfort. The campground also offers Wi-Fi, propane service, a Kamping Kitchen, and a snack bar, catering to diverse camping needs.
According to KOA’s annual Camping and Outdoor Hospitality Report, campers contribute significantly to local economies, spending an average of $156 daily during their trips. 30% of campers expressed interest in small towns and another 30% were drawn to food tourism.
The Rawlins KOA Journey is part of the KOA network of over 500 locations in the United States and Canada. The campground, located at 205 E. Highway 71 in Rawlins, Wyoming, is currently closed for the winter season. It is set to reopen in spring 2025, welcoming new and returning guests to explore the surrounding region.
