Family-owned campgrounds across Wisconsin are launching the 2025 camping season with a wide array of new amenities and expansions aimed at enhancing the guest experience.
Attractions such as remote control (RC) racing tracks, foam cannons, and floating water playgrounds are debuting at several properties throughout the state.
“I think families are going to love these exciting additions to Wisconsin’s independently owned and operated campgrounds,” Lori Severson, executive director of the Wisconsin Association of Campground Owners (WACO), said in a press release.
New campgrounds are also opening this year, including Castle Rock Hideaway in Mauston. Set to open in mid-May, the park will feature 30 seasonal sites, five overnight sites, and 12 cabins just 500 yards from Castle Rock Lake, Wisconsin’s fourth largest lake. The location offers convenient access to nearby boat ramps.

Several existing campgrounds are expanding their facilities. Glacier Valley Campground in Cambria is adding 12 campsites and planting 250 trees, while Jellystone Park Camp-Resort in Caledonia is adding two high-end cabins with porches and lofted decks.
Lakeland RV Campground in Milton has added 18 pull-through RV sites, and O’Neil Creek Campground in Chippewa Falls is boosting its rental options with three new park model units.
Red Barn Campground in Shell Lake has undergone a major expansion, adding 100 campsites and an activity center equipped with a 100-inch screen and ATV rentals. Last year, the campground introduced a floating water park and continues to offer attractions such as trails, giant chess, and a petting zoo.

The R Campground in Oshkosh has added 30 campsites and is installing a swimming pond, which will feature inflatables next year. Whistle Stop Campground in Marshall, located next to the vintage amusement park Little Amerricka, is also adding four cabins and upgrading flooring and other interior features.
Across the state, other parks are unveiling unique enhancements. Alana Springs Campground in Richland Center, now under new ownership, has upgraded its office and bathrooms. Anchor Bay and Anchor Woods Campgrounds in Spooner are installing a dog park and a gaga ball pit, respectively. Champions Riverside Resort in Galesville is adding a Wibit water obstacle course, foam cannon, and new playground.
Grand Valley Campground in Dalton is constructing a new activity pavilion. Hitts Wildwood Resort in Chetek is introducing Wi-Fi service, and Indian Trails Campground in Pardeeville is expanding its water sports park and has added pickleball courts.
Jellystone Park in Wisconsin Dells is also launching a new “Downpour Derby” water feature and will offer virtual tours of campsites and rentals.
Lake Arrowhead Campground in Montello is debuting a new “lounging pool” designed with 11 coves and in-water seating for socializing.
Other additions include an RC track and foam cannon at Pineland Camping Park in Big Flats, and a snack bar at Pride of America Camping Resort in Pardeeville that features homemade fudge, hand-dipped ice cream, and barista-style coffee. Wishing Well RV Resort in Fort Atkinson is set to open a new bar and restaurant by Memorial Day weekend.
