Wisconsin Campgrounds Offer Activities for the Whole Family

Families seeking an unforgettable outdoor adventure can find it at various campgrounds across Wisconsin. These campgrounds offer unique and engaging activities for all age groups, ensuring a memorable experience for the whole family.

Lake Arrowhead Campground in Montello is just one of many campgrounds creating innovative entertainment options for their guests.

Co-owner Jessica Malsack and her team have developed activities ranging from TikTok-inspired challenges to unique games like “Rock and Roll Bingo.” They also organize carnivals with free tickets for children to play games and redeem prizes at the campground store.

The Wisconsin Association of Campground Owners (WACO) encourages campgrounds to add new activities each year, providing families fresh experiences to explore each summer.

According to Lori Severson, executive director of WACO, the best way to find campgrounds with diverse activities is to visit WisconsinCampgrounds.com. Most campgrounds also have themed weekend activity schedules on their websites.

Some popular events include Pirate Takeover Weekend at Buffalo Lake Camping Resort in Montello, featuring a cardboard boat regatta and Tropical Splash Weekend with a bubble slip and slide. Indian Trails Campground in Pardeeville offers pirate-themed weekends with buried treasure hunts and cardboard boat races for various age groups.

Jellystone Park Camp-Resort in the Wisconsin Dells introduces new themed weeks each year. This year, they will host a Junior Ranger and Park Princess Week, where participants can make binoculars, disguises, and picnic basket booby traps. There will also be a nature scavenger hunt and park escape challenge.

Pineland Camping Park in Arkdale has introduced themed weekends for its entire 26-week camping season. These weekends cover various themes like Super Hero, the Olympics, Mardi Gras, and Christmas in July. The campground also includes jousting, charity raffles, and weekly live music.

For a more traditional experience, Red Barn Campground in Shell Lake offers old-fashioned barn dances during the summer months, along with 250 acres of ATV and UTV trails. Campers can bring their own vehicles or rent them from the campground.

Wisconsin campgrounds offer something for everyone, from game show-inspired challenges to vintage RV weekends and Green Bay Packers events. So, pack your bags and prepare for an unforgettable outdoor adventure in the scenic landscapes of Wisconsin.
