Wisconsin Campgrounds Introduce New Themes, Activities, and Live Music for 2025 Season

Family-owned campgrounds across Wisconsin are expanding their weekend offerings this summer, introducing new themed events, activities, and live entertainment aimed at enhancing the guest experience.

According to the Wisconsin Association of Campground Owners, many of the state’s 200-plus campgrounds will feature organized family activities and weekend themes to attract returning and first-time visitors.

Several locations are also planning live music performances and debuting interactive experiences not previously offered.

“It’s always a good idea to check campground activity and themed weekend event calendars on their websites so you know in advance what they’re planning and which activities are the best fit for your family,” said Lori Severson, executive director of the Wisconsin Association of Campground Owners.

Glacier Valley Campground in Cambria is hosting a three-day music festival June 6-8, featuring 40 bands performing a mix of rock, acoustic folk, reggae and blues, in an event inspired by Woodstock.

In Pardeeville, Indian Trails Campground will celebrate its 60th anniversary on June 7 with live music, food trucks, free giveaways, and an anniversary cake.

Kinney Lake Campground in Marion has booked Casey James, a third-place finalist on season nine of American Idol, for a June 21 acoustic performance. The park will also host a tribute concert to Bon Jovi and Journey, scheduled for August 11.

O’Neil Creek Campground in Chippewa Falls is adding fresh programming with its “Zen Escape Week” set for June 16-22, featuring yoga, meditation, and nature walks. Another highlight includes a “Mystery Detective Weekend” in September with forensic-themed activities such as fingerprint analysis and cipher challenges.

Big Flats’ Pineland Camping Park is launching new weekend themes, including a safari-themed weekend August 22-24. Activities will feature a scavenger hunt, obstacle course, and an appearance by exotic animals.

River’s Edge Campground in Stevens Point will also host Casey James on June 20, underscoring a growing trend of live music performances at regional campgrounds aiming to diversify guest experiences.

The Wisconsin Association of Campground Owners maintains wisconsincampgrounds.com, a travel planning platform that lists privately operated campgrounds not typically featured on public park websites. The site includes calendars, event listings, and a free campground guide available in both digital and print formats.

The association represents independently owned and operated RV parks, campgrounds, and resorts, and promotes the state as a family-friendly destination through its marketing efforts and annual publications.
