Cabins at Fort McCoy’s Pine View Campground in Wisconsin are now open for year-round rental, as the 2025 outdoor recreation season is underway across the Pine View Recreation Area, according to Alex Karis with the Fort McCoy Directorate of Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation.
The campground offers a variety of cabin options for visitors, ranging from one-bedroom park model units with lofts to two-bedroom standalone cabins.
All units are available to military personnel, Department of Defense employees, and the general public, with separate pricing structures.
“We have 16 cabins that are available to rent,” Karis said, as reported by DVIDS on July 1. Each cabin comes with heating and cooling amenities, providing comfort during all seasons of the year.
Duplex cabins are priced at $100 per night Sunday through Thursday and $115 per night on weekends for military or DOD employees. The general public pays $110 Sunday through Thursday and $135 Friday through Saturday.
Lakeside two-bedroom cabins cost $115 on weekdays and $130 on weekends for military and DOD personnel. For the general public, the rates are $140 and $155, respectively.
The campground’s loft log cabin is also priced at $85 on weekdays and $100 on weekends for military and DOD employees. Public rates are $105 Sunday through Thursday and $120 Friday through Saturday.
Pine View Recreation Area has been a key outdoor destination for more than 50 years. It features miles of hiking trails, the La Crosse River, Suukjak Sep Lake and Creek, Trout Falls, Whitetail Ridge Ski Area, and the Sportsman’s Range.
“Pine View Recreation Area offers four-season, year-round activities to include camping, hiking, fishing, and more,” Karis said.
“We want people to know that around the entire Pine View Recreation Area there’s opportunities to enjoy some fantastic outdoor recreation opportunities,” Karis added.
The recreation area’s hiking trails are open to the public and offer scenic views throughout the year. Karis encouraged visitors to explore local landmarks, including the La Crosse River’s Trout Falls.
