Wilkins Recreational Vehicles, Inc. received the 2025 Gary Bunzer Education Award during the Pennsylvania Recreation Vehicle and Camping Association (PRVCA) annual meeting on November 20.
The recognition highlights the dealership’s significant investment in workforce development, a critical area for RV dealers aiming to improve service department efficiency and retention.
The award, presented by PRVCA Education Director James Lubomski, honors the member organization that logs the highest number of continuing education hours throughout the year.
Between September 2024 and August 2025, Wilkins RV employees completed 360 education hours, surpassing other member companies in their commitment to technical and operational training.
Nancy Carpino, director of service at Wilkins RV, accepted the award on behalf of the dealership.
“This is a great honor for Wilkins RV,” Carpino said. “It shows just how committed we are to training our employees and shows that we have partners […] that also believe training is important”.
Focus on Service Competence
The award is named after Gary Bunzer, a renowned industry consultant and trainer known as “The RV Doctor,” who passed away in 2020. Bunzer advocated heavily for standardized training for both technicians and consumers.
PRVCA continues this legacy by offering free or subsidized training programs to its members, a resource designed to help dealers mitigate the industry-wide shortage of certified technicians.
For dealership owners and operators, the recognition of Wilkins RV serves as a benchmark for service department management. As RV systems become increasingly complex, continuous education is necessary to reduce repair cycle times and increase customer trust.
“It’s [training] always available and new trainings are coming out,” Carpino noted regarding the association’s resources. “We appreciate the assistance from our industry partners”.
Association Updates
The annual meeting also served as a review of the association’s fiscal year, including the performance of America’s Largest RV Show held in Hershey, Pennsylvania, this past September.
The revenue generated from the show directly funds the educational programs that members like Wilkins RV utilize.PRVCA members can access upcoming training schedules, including the 2026 Leadership Conference, through the association’s online portal.
