The KOA Holiday Campground at Mylan Park (West Virginia) has unveiled its expanded facilities, welcoming travelers ahead of Labor Day weekend and the first home football game of the season.
The development marks a major step in the park’s ongoing efforts to broaden its recreational offerings.
The campground, located on 37 acres within Mylan Park, began limited operations in May. This weekend, the facility is fully opening to accommodate a larger number of guests with expanded camping and RV options.
“We’ve been running around here pretty crazy, but we’re excited,” Mylan Park KOA General Manager Frank Witt said, as reported by The Dominion Post on August 28.

“We opened a small part of our campground back in May, but this weekend we’re opening up the rest of it and giving more access to those coming camping and RVing for the Labor Day weekend and to enjoy, of course, a great Mountaineer game,” Witt added.
The expanded campground is set to feature 137 RV sites, up from 41 previously available.
It also includes 22 cabins in multiple layouts and 10 tent camping pads.
Amenities such as a playground, a “Kangaroo jumper” for children, and two dog parks are part of the offering.
Additional features are scheduled to come online in the months ahead. A central lodge is slated to open later this fall, serving as a meeting and activity center for campers. The facility will include a camp store, laundry and shower facilities, communal fire pits, and a propane filling station.
Witt noted that the campground is designed to connect visitors with the broader Mylan Park campus. “We also have a great walking trail that connects our area with Fitness Way (leading to ballfields, Pro Performance, an inclusive playground, track and aquatic center). We also have some fishing ponds out that way – catch and release,” he said.
KOA guests also receive access to the larger park through Mylan Park’s one-park pass system.
“When you stay with us, we give out two passes to the folks who come in their RVs or to stay in cabins or tents, and they get to use the facilities at Mylan Park. If you want to go to the fitness center, play pickleball, shoot basketball, go swim at the aquatic center, it’s all included within your registration fee,” Witt said.
The campground opening coincides with another major addition at Mylan Park. Just 1,000 feet from the KOA entrance, the Ice Pavilion at Mylan Park will be another highlight . The 48,000-square-foot facility features a regulation NHL ice surface and is designed to host a range of recreational and competitive events.
