Snow Peak Long Beach Campfield, located on the Washington coast, has been named to TIME Magazine’s 2024 list of the Top 100 World’s Greatest Places.
The luxury campground, which opened this summer, is situated on a 25-acre site near the Long Beach Peninsula. This location marks the first Snow Peak campground in the United States, expanding the reach of this Japanese camping company.
Since its opening, the campground has been fully booked throughout the summer, with reservations required months in advance. Noah Reis, chief operating officer and vice president of Snow Peak USA, emphasized the “unique appeal” of the Long Beach Campfield.
“Our Long Beach Campfield is more than just a destination; it’s a sanctuary where friends, families, and solo campers can immerse themselves in a refined camping experience, surrounded by the stunning beauty of the Pacific Northwest’s coast,” Reis said, as quoted in a report by KWG8 news.
Incorporating elements of Japanese culture, the campground features a traditional Ofuro Spa and uses materials sourced from Japan. Guests can also participate in a variety of activities, including mushroom hunting, clam digging, and bike excursions, all designed to enhance their connection with nature.
TIME Magazine’s World’s Greatest Places list, which grew from 50 to 100 entries this year, highlights locations offering “new and exciting experiences.” The selection process involved recommendations from TIME’s international network of correspondents and contributors.
The campground operates year-round, providing a four-season camping experience. According to its website, Snow Peak offers a convenient camping experience with their tent suites. These suites come fully equipped with a four-person shelter, an iron grill table kitchen, a dining table and chairs, and a campfire setup. Designed for two guests to sleep on cots, these can accommodate up to four guests with sleeping pads.
The campground also provides the option of staying in Jyubako Suites, micro cabins designed with a minimalist aesthetic. Each suite features climate control, a queen bed, private bathroom, linens, living area, kitchenette, and mini fridge.
