Harvest Hosts Connects RV Travelers to Unique Stays at Washington’s Farms, Vineyards, and Attractions

An RV membership program offering travelers access to unique overnight stays at farms, wineries, breweries, and other local attractions highlights travel opportunities across Washington state.

Harvest Hosts provides RVers the opportunity to stay at small businesses while supporting local economies and experiencing the state’s scenic diversity.

A survey conducted by Harvest Hosts in May found that more Americans planned to vacation closer to home amid economic uncertainty, aiming to reduce costs while supporting local businesses and enjoying outdoor travel.

Rather than paying nightly rates at conventional campgrounds, members purchase an annual subscription that allows unlimited overnight stays at participating host sites.

The arrangement provides travelers with unique and secure places to park while helping hosts attract new visitors and increase business visibility.

In Washington, dozens of hosts participate in the program, including a 50-acre orchard and alpaca farm in Kettle Falls, a military museum in Chehalis, and an herb farm in Leavenworth.

Each site offers travelers a glimpse into local industries and communities while encouraging direct engagement between guests and business owners.

According to an article published by Seattle Refined on October 13, one of the participants is Hyatt Vineyards in Zillah, a family-operated winery that has hosted RVers for the past five years.

General Manager and Certified Sommelier Ashley Koempel said the experience gives visitors more than a standard tasting.

“We kind of tell (RVers) to make it their home,” Koempel said. “We try to offer them a really good experience where they can come somewhere, feel like they’re at home, and have a beautiful view, because our grounds overlook Mount Adams, and then you can see the peak of Mount Rainier off into the distance.”

Visitors staying at the vineyard are welcome to explore the grounds and enjoy private tastings.

“A lot of times when they come in and stay with us, I’ll guide them through a tasting of our wines, and then sometimes we will take them over to the winery if we have time and show them the barrels,” Koempel said.

Harvest Hosts offers three membership tiers. The “Classic” plan, around $84 per year, provides access to small businesses and attractions.

The “Harvest Hosts + Boondockers Welcome” plan, about $143 per year, also extends access to private property hosts and campground partners.

The “All Access” plan, at about $152 per year, includes all the above plus additional perks.

Koempel said the partnership with Harvest Hosts has introduced Hyatt Vineyards to new audiences.

“I had some people that were travelling to the US from Europe, and they flew into the East Coast,” she said. “They rented an RV and they were travelling across the country, and they happened to see our profile when they got to the wine region of the West Coast, and they booked with us. And so, it was really fun chatting with them.”

The growing network of hosts in Washington underscores a broader trend toward experience-based RV travel. By linking small businesses with RVers seeking authentic destinations, Harvest Hosts continues to create new pathways for sustainable and community-driven tourism.
