VCA Shares Holiday Travel Guidance, Plans Attendance at Richmond RV Show 2026

The Virginia Campground Association (VCA) is informing members about key updates ahead of the Thanksgiving holiday and the association’s 2026 campground directory, emphasizing opportunities for campgrounds to attract RV travelers and maintain visibility in the state’s outdoor hospitality market.

The announcements highlight surging RV travel, membership renewals, social media promotion, and upcoming events.

According to the RV Industry Association’s Holiday Travel Intention Survey, 9 million Americans plan to travel by RV over Thanksgiving. More than half of RV owners indicated they will stay in their RVs while visiting friends and family, creating a significant opportunity for campgrounds to capture seasonal revenue.

VCA encourages members to engage with this audience by showcasing their operations on social media. Campgrounds can submit photos of meal spreads, decorated campsites, happy campers, and cabins or glamping setups for feature posts on the VCA Facebook page, which reaches over 8,000 followers.

The association also issued a reminder regarding the 2026 Virginia Campground Directory. Members must pay dues to maintain their listings, the announcement indicates.

“Thanks to everyone who has renewed, and your cooperation in helping us keep dues at current rates by mailing checks,” the VCA states in an email.

Looking ahead, VCA anticipates a “banner year for outdoor hospitality.” It cites a change in administration and renewed focus on regulatory and legislative issues affecting campgrounds. The association stressed that these factors make advocacy efforts more important than ever.

As VCA approaches its 60th anniversary, the association emphasized the benefits of membership for campgrounds navigating both operational and regulatory challenges.

In addition to digital promotions and directory listings, the association announced its presence at the Richmond RV Show, scheduled for January 30 through February 1, 2026, at the Richmond Raceway Complex. Members are invited to attend or submit brochures for distribution at the VCA booth.

The announcements position campgrounds to maximize exposure during a peak travel period while reinforcing the value of maintaining membership and visibility within Virginia’s outdoor hospitality community.

VCA continues to provide members with tools and resources to optimize business operations, reach seasonal travelers, and maintain compliance with state and industry standards.
