The Virginia Campground Association (VCA) is encouraging members to promote their Labor Day and late-summer events as the organization ramps up marketing efforts for the final stretch of the season.
With August underway, VCA is offering to share member events, specials, and site availability on its Facebook page, which has more than 8,000 followers, and to use its marketing budget to boost visibility.
“Whether you’re hosting a Labor Day event, running a late-summer special, or want to get the word out that you’ve got sites available, we’ll gladly share it,” the announcement indicates in a press release.
Members are asked to submit their park name, event or promotion details, and an optional photo. “We’ll get the word out — let’s show campers that Virginia is the place to be this August and beyond,” the association adds.
The initiative aims to help campgrounds capture traveler interest during a period that historically sees high demand. Labor Day weekend traditionally marks one of the last major opportunities for campgrounds to attract summer travelers before school schedules and cooler weather impact booking patterns.
According to the RV Industry Association’s (RVIA) Fall Travel Intentions Survey, about 7.3 million Americans plan to travel by RV over Labor Day weekend this year.
VCA is also offering members the opportunity to join its cooperative marketing email campaign, scheduled to be sent to 200,000 Virginia campers and RVers on Aug. 19. Participation costs $800 per member, with space still available.
In addition to event promotions, VCA is inviting members to share recent news coverage, park improvements, or other achievements to be featured in future communications.
The association regularly highlights member success stories to showcase the strength and diversity of Virginia’s campground industry.
For those who do not currently receive updates from VCA Marketing Director Eileen Sperry, the organization is encouraging members to connect directly.
