About National Public Lands Day
Created in 2004, National Public Lands Day encourages Americans to connect with their public lands by experiencing the educational, recreational, and health benefits found within those lands.
National Public Lands Day has also been one of the largest single-day volunteer events in the country. To help celebrate, the National Park Service is waiving all entrance fees on September 24.
