General RV Center, the nation’s largest family-owned RV dealer, celebrated the grand opening of its new South Weber Supercenter in Utah with a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by community leaders, employees, and industry partners.
The event drew nearly 80 guests, including South Weber Mayor Rod Westbroek, city council members, local firefighters, and representatives from RV manufacturers.
Attendees toured the facility and marked the start of the Supercenter’s Summer Blowout sales event.
“It took almost two years to get from a shovel in the ground to what you guys see here today,” Loren Baidas, CEO of General RV and a third-generation owner, said in a press release.
“We’re blessed to be able to build such a beautiful facility in a great community and being welcomed by South Weber,” Baidas added.
The 65,000-square-foot facility is located about 30 miles north of Salt Lake City and is General RV’s second dealership in Utah.
The Supercenter carries an inventory of more than 500 new and used RVs, including motorhomes, fifth wheels, and travel trailers.
In addition to its showroom and sales offices, the South Weber location has 30 service bays and a dedicated body shop to handle a wide range of RV maintenance and repair needs.
“South Weber is my home,” said Paxton Jensen, operations manager for the South Weber Supercenter.
He highlighted the Baidas family’s role in the project and described the effort to open the facility as “one of those hauls to get here that makes you grateful for those people around you because they build you up.”
Since opening earlier this year, the Supercenter has created more than 80 local jobs spanning sales, finance, parts, service, and customer support roles.
The construction phase also supported dozens of regional contractors and tradespeople.
Mayor Westbroek praised the dealership’s investment in the city, saying, “South Weber is a great community, and I think they’ll reap great benefits from being here. We look forward to a good future for you (General RV) and South Weber.”
General RV operates 23 Supercenters in 10 states, with locations in Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Illinois, Michigan, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Utah, and Virginia.
Its first Utah dealership opened in Draper in 2009 and has been recognized as the state’s top RV dealer by Statistical Surveys Inc.
Robert Jensen, general Manager of General RV’s Draper Supercenter, said the company is committed to long-term growth and community involvement in Utah. “We bring a lot of economic development into our community. And I guarantee you; we’re in for good days.”
