An upcoming workshop at the RV Dealers Association (RVDA) Convention/Expo will highlight how effective parts management can strengthen dealership profitability, even during challenging economic periods.
David Foco, owner of D.T. Foco & Associates and Benchmark Training, will lead the session, “Mastering Parts Management: Expectations of a Successful Parts Manager,” scheduled for Thursday, Nov. 13, from 2:45 to 3:45 p.m. as part of the convention’s fixed operations education track.
Foco’s session is designed to help attendees understand how a well-managed parts department can serve as a key profit center for RV dealerships.
The workshop will focus on consistent management practices and interdepartmental communication strategies that maximize parts and labor sales while improving gross profit.
According to the session description, the session will provide participants with “a real-life, day-to-day, month-by-month, working agenda with objectives/KPI’s to successfully interact with dealership departments and to maximize parts labor sales and gross profit.”
Attendees can expect to learn the proper methods for managing, tracking, and marketing retail and service inventories to optimize parts profits.
The session will also address best practices for maintaining accurate inventory and developing internal systems that enhance dealership efficiency.
Another key topic will be management and human resource skills needed to attract and retain high-performing parts department personnel.
Foco will also discuss the importance of effective communication between the parts department and other areas of the dealership, including sales, service, and warranty. Establishing consistent communication channels helps ensure smooth coordination and better customer outcomes.
The workshop is part of the fixed operations education track at the RVDA Convention/Expo, which features sessions dedicated to improving the efficiency and profitability of service, parts, and warranty departments.
