THOR Industries has introduced the Entegra Coach Embark, the “world’s first range extended electric Class A motorhome,” during the Elkhart Dealer Open House in Indiana.
The Embark is built on an electric chassis developed by Harbinger Motors for THOR’s family of companies. It integrates a low-emission gasoline range extender, allowing the motorhome to travel up to 450 miles.
On battery power alone, the vehicle delivers 105 miles of range, designed for shorter trips and local exploration.
“Electrification will play a central role in the future of mobility, including RVing,” Bob Martin, THOR Industries president and CEO, said in a press release.
“This first-of-its-kind electric Class A motorhome reinforces THOR’s innovation leadership and offers unparalleled product differentiation for the Entegra Coach brand,” Martin added.
The Embark is equipped with a center-mounted 140-kWh battery pack. Its placement lowers the center of gravity, providing improved handling and stability. The EV drivetrain supplies instant torque, reduces sway, and delivers a quieter ride for increased control and comfort.
Safety features are standard, including a backup camera with dynamic trajectory, ultrasonic collision warnings, and real-time tire pressure monitoring. These systems are designed to give drivers more confidence on the road.
The motorhome also incorporates an 800-volt electrical architecture, enabling rapid charging at DC Fast Charger stations. Owners will also have the option to recharge at home, traditional campgrounds, or through the integrated range extender.
In addition to powering its own systems, the Embark can operate as a mobile backup energy source. The vehicle can offboard power, allowing it to keep essential household systems running during an outage.
Ken Walters, president and CEO of the Jayco Family of Companies, said the Embark represents the next step for Entegra Coach.
“With the reputation of Entegra Coach, we are certain that it is the best brand to bring this project to life,” Walters said. “The Embark will go through extensive consumer testing through the rental market prior to production next summer. We want to be sure that it offers everything a customer expects from an Entegra Coach motorhome.”
The vehicle’s European-inspired design emphasizes sustainability while addressing consumer concerns about range anxiety. THOR said the system’s streamlined power management simplifies use and extends time off grid, appealing to RVers seeking longer, self-sufficient trips.
THOR will begin full production of the Embark in 2026. Ahead of the launch, the company plans to make the motorhome available through THL’s rental fleet. Consumer feedback from the rental program will inform product improvements throughout the year.
