A new specialty agency, The RV Insurance Shop, has launched, under the leadership of 30-year insurance veteran Marty Karriker to serve RV owners throughout the United States
The company began operations with the goal of addressing what it describes as longstanding gaps in RV coverage and education.
Unlike traditional auto insurers that treat RV policies as add-ons, the agency is designed exclusively for the needs of RVers.
Its approach is consultative and education-driven, with licensed specialists working directly with clients to match coverage to their lifestyle and travel habits.
“RV owners deserve more than a cookie-cutter auto policy with an RV tacked on,” said Marty Karriker, founder of The RV Insurance Shop.
“These are homes on wheels, and they require thoughtful coverage. Our mission is to sit down with every client, understand how they use their RV, and walk them through their options. We want people to know the ‘why’ behind their coverage – not just the price,” Karriker added.
Karriker brings more than three decades of experience in the insurance sector. He previously founded and scaled an independent agency, later selling it to one of the nation’s largest brokerages before turning his attention to the RV market.
His decision to launch The RV Insurance Shop stems from what he identified as a critical need for tailored policies.
Too often, he said, RVers face inadequate protection because agents treat RV coverage as a sideline to auto insurance. The result is that policyholders may not realize the extent of their exposure until they attempt to file a claim.
The agency seeks to prevent that outcome by educating clients on coverages specific to RV ownership. Its portfolio includes total loss replacement, vacation liability, full-timer’s insurance, and roadside assistance. Each policy type addresses a distinct set of risks faced by owners, from financial loss in an accident to liability while parked at a campsite.
