The Dyrt Introduces New Head of Sales

In a move hailed as a landmark for the company, camping app The Dyrt has welcomed Rob Hudson as their inaugural head of sales.

Hudson, a seasoned veteran in the sectors of advertising media and technology, has dedicated two decades to these industries. His impressive career includes a three-year stint as the senior sales director at Outside Interactive, an immersive media company aimed at outdoor enthusiasts.

This strategic appointment marks a new chapter for The Dyrt, which has established its name as a premier source of camping information and booking services. CEO of The Dyrt, Kevin Long, articulated the significance of Hudson’s entry into the organization, stating, “Hiring Rob as our first head of sales is a monumental moment for The Dyrt.

Long further expressed his confidence in Hudson’s proficiencies, particularly his unique insight into the outdoor recreation sector, to guide the company toward a broader vision. Under Hudson’s leadership, the sales team at The Dyrt will strive to enhance their offerings and revolutionize the camping experience for their users.

Before joining The Dyrt, Hudson held pivotal roles with renowned publishers including Active Interest Media and Time Inc./Bonnier Corporation. He was also part of the team that successfully launched Mountain Media in 2009.

Reflecting on his entrepreneurial journey, Hudson commented, “I’m an entrepreneur at heart. I’ve successfully launched companies as well as joined early-stage startups to help accelerate their revenue streams,”

Hudson is excited to spearhead partnerships at The Dyrt, contribute to the product roadmap, and steer the go-to-market strategy. 

Given The Dyrt’s rapidly expanding audience, he expressed eagerness to build a future-proof infrastructure while staying focused on leveraging the current momentum.

Hudson’s illustrious career began with REI in Denver, where he was a sales specialist. Ten years later, he transitioned into partnerships and business development roles at Adventure Project, Inc., which was subsequently acquired by REI.

Beyond his professional commitments, Hudson, a licensed pilot, actively volunteers with the Recreational Aviation Foundation and Pilots N Paws, organizations dedicated to backcountry airstrip preservation and animal rescue, respectively.
