The Texas Association of Campground Owners (TACO) will host its 2025 Texas Campgrounds Educational Series on October 22, focusing on new building and expansion guidelines as well as mandatory evacuation plans under recently passed legislation.
The virtual session, titled “S.B. 1 – NPA-1194 NEW Building/Expanding Guidelines and Required Evacuation Plans,” will take place from 10 to 11 a.m. Central Time via Zoom.
The event is part of TACO’s ongoing effort to educate campground owners, RV park operators, and industry suppliers on regulatory and legislative changes affecting outdoor hospitality businesses across the state.
The program will feature a “Special Session Recap,” a detailed discussion on the passage of NFPA-1194, and an overview of requirements for developing, approving, and implementing evacuation plans.
A live Q&A segment will allow participants to engage directly with TACO’s leadership and legislative team.
Presenters include Brian Schaeffer, TACO’s executive director and CEO; Ron Hinkle, the organization’s legislative consultant; and Randall Dally, TACO’s legislative liaison.
Participation is free for active TACO members, while nonmembers may register for $50. Space is limited, and early registration is encouraged to ensure access to the live Q&A portion.
The 2025 Texas Campgrounds Educational Series continues to serve as a key resource for professional development and policy updates within the state’s outdoor hospitality industry.
TACO, established in 1972, represents nearly 400 privately owned campgrounds and RV parks across the state.
The organization maintains a strong presence through its widely read consumer magazine, the most-visited website for Texas campgrounds, and active legislative advocacy in Austin, supporting the interests of park owners and operators statewide.
