Onera Fredericksburg (Texas) has expanded its Hill Country resort with the launch of 23 new luxury treehouse units, bringing the total to 35.
The expansion has already begun welcoming guests this fall, positioning the property as a destination for travelers seeking high-end glamping experiences.
The resort, located near downtown Fredericksburg, offers a collection of unique units built with sustainable materials and designed to integrate modern architecture with the surrounding landscape. Each new unit emphasizes privacy and sweeping views of the Hill Country.
This latest addition builds on the resort’s original 12 units and broadens the scope of its offerings. Guests now have access to a wider selection of accommodations, paired with shared amenities such as a swimming pool, saunas, firepits, and hot plunge pools.
Many units also include private decks and outdoor soaking tubs.
Onera also operates a sister property in Wimberley, which opened in 2024. That location was not included in the current Fredericksburg expansion but reflects the brand’s broader presence in Texas.
Eight distinct designs were introduced as part of the new phase, including the Cypress Lodge, Post Oak, Quonset, Diamond, Monolith, Winecup, Spiral, and The Great Lodge. Each design varies in style, floor plan, and sleeping capacity, offering guests more variety in their stay.
According to an article Culture Map Dallas, CEO Jon Cole highlighted the Monolith as one of his favorite new models, citing its architectural character. He emphasized that the additions were created with a focus on individuality, allowing visitors to choose spaces that best fit their preferences.
“A day at Onera is as flexible and restorative as you need it to be,” Cole said.
“Some guests spend the morning enjoying coffee on their private deck before heading into Fredericksburg for shopping or wine tasting, while others choose to stay on property all day to unwind with amenities like the hot plunge, sauna, or a wellness add-on. The beauty of Onera is that it offers the best of both worlds,” Cole added.
Cole also noted that the new treehouses are designed to enhance the sense of variety at the resort. By diversifying the architectural options, the company aims to create a more “immersive” experience for visitors.
The Fredericksburg location’s proximity to the town center provides additional appeal. Guests can combine resort relaxation with day trips to the historic district, wineries, and local shops.
Reservations for both the new and original units are available through the company’s booking platform, stayonera.com.
