El Campo Lost Lagoon RV Resort in El Campo, Texas, has been awarded Park of the Year by the Texas Association of Campground Owners (TACO) in the large park category.
The 255-site RV resort, which has been operating for five years, features one of the largest swimming pools in the nation. TACO evaluated consumer reviews, employee training levels, accreditations and certifications, and community involvement before granting the award.
The campground’s owners, Kenna and Stephen Lucas, expressed joy at receiving the award. “We are thrilled to receive this recognition,” they said.
The resort’s main attraction is its two-acre, 650,000-gallon, beach-entry swimming pool, which the Lucases acquired in 2017. They also built the 255-site RV resort around it, which opened in 2019.
Over the years, they have continuously improved the main pool area, adding a rope swing, rock slides, and a 500-foot lazy river. In addition to the main pool, the resort features a sports park with a floating climbing structure known as a Wibit, which is popular with children. This area complements the resort’s wide range of amenities, including extra decking, palapa-style cabanas, a kiddie lagoon, a multilevel water play structure, and a swimming pool called the Oasis Cove Pool. The resort also recently opened the world’s first-ever Flow Rider Island and two large water slides.
El Campo Lost Lagoon has a loyal following of adults and families with children. The resort offers a variety of activities and amenities to keep everyone entertained. Guests can enjoy a catch-and-release fishing pond stocked with 30-inch catfish, a remote-controlled car track, a mining sluice, and a gaga ball pit. Other activities include an arcade, an exercise room, a playground, and volleyball and basketball courts.
For guests who do not own an RV, there are rental accommodations available. Additionally, the resort showcases live entertainment on most weekends, periodic fishing competitions, and barbecue cook-offs.
