Bastrop residents Mark and Sabrina McClenton have launched McClenton Hideout, a glamping retreat on their 62-acre cattle ranch that combines luxury accommodations with outdoor activities, including all-terrain vehicle tours, fishing, and curated meal experiences. The retreat officially opened on October 3 at 153 La Jolla Lane, Bastrop.
The McClenton Hideout offers guests a climate-controlled safari-style tent featuring a king-sized bed, a soaker tub, a refrigerator, and a coffee machine. The tent’s deck is furnished with rocking chairs to provide a comfortable outdoor seating area.
Guests can customize their stay with add-ons, including accessories for the fire pit and grill, as well as hand-picked meal packages tailored to their requests.
“We can even set up a romantic dinner in a tipi for a special occasion,” Sabrina McClenton said, as reported by Community Impact.

The retreat also includes outdoor activities designed to appeal to adventure-seeking visitors. Guided ATV tours and fishing excursions are available, giving guests opportunities to explore the ranch and surrounding countryside.
“After a day of exploring, guests can unwind with a few games or simply relax and take in the quiet beauty of the ranch,” Sabrina McClenton added.
The property blends modern amenities with the rustic charm of a working cattle ranch. Each tent is equipped with full climate control, private bathroom facilities, and essentials such as a sink, refrigerator, and coffee machine.

McClenton Hideout is situated just 30 miles east of Austin along Highway 71, providing access to both urban attractions and natural recreation. Guests can visit historic downtown Bastrop, local breweries, or kayak on the nearby Colorado River.
The retreat emphasizes experiential travel, offering visitors the chance to connect with Texas ranch life while enjoying comfort and luxury.
An additional feature allows guests to purchase McClenton Ranch Black Angus Beef, locally raised and processed in Texas.

“This premium-quality beef is sourced locally and USDA inspected — the perfect way to enjoy an authentic ranch-to-table meal right from your campfire or grill,” McClenton Hideout’s website indicates.
Meal options are designed to complement the ranch-to-table experience, providing guests with an authentic taste of the property’s agricultural operations.
McClenton Hideout accommodates travelers seeking a mix of romance, relaxation, and outdoor adventure. The retreat positions itself as a gateway to Texas countryside exploration with hotel-style amenities.
“After a day of exploring, unwind with a few games or simply relax and take in the quiet beauty of the ranch. The McClenton Hideout is where rustic charm meets modern comfort—your perfect Texas escape,” McClenton Hideout’s website adds.
