Don Reed, CEO and founder of DealerPRO RV Training, will lead a workshop on technician recruitment and retention during the 2025 RV Dealers Convention/Expo, scheduled for Nov. 10-14 at Paris Las Vegas.
The session aims to equip dealership personnel with practical tools to address the ongoing technician shortage in the RV industry.
The workshop, titled “Technician Recruitment: Best Practices for Hiring & Retaining Top Talent,” will take place at 8 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 13.
It is part of the fixed operations and dealer/general manager education track of the event.
Reed will focus on strategies that dealerships can use to improve technician hiring through digital outreach and structured career development.

According to a press release, the RV industry continues to face a shortage of qualified service technicians. “It’s more critical than ever to focus on retaining skilled technicians and developing a long-term strategy to ensure a steady supply of top-tier talent,” the press release indicates.
The workshop includes guidance on implementing programs like Technician Certification Programs (TCP) to reduce turnover.
According to the RVDA, Reed’s session will also provide tools for fostering a workplace culture that supports technician success and satisfaction.
The RV Dealers Convention/Expo brings together dealers, suppliers, and educators from across North America for a five-day event that includes training, networking, and access to business development resources.
Organized by the RV Dealers Association (RVDA) of the U.S., RVDA of Canada, and the Mike Molino RV Learning Center, the convention is designed to support continuous learning for dealership professionals in all departments.
Attendees can expect sessions focused on current industry trends, fixed operations efficiency, customer service improvement, and sales optimization, with tracks tailored to roles ranging from general managers to F&I professionals.
In addition to educational programming, the convention’s Expo will provide a venue for attendees to engage with vendors and explore solutions designed to enhance dealership operations.
