SuperSprings International Earns TÜV Certification for European Vehicle Platforms

SuperSprings International announced that its SumoSprings suspension products have received TÜV Rheinland certification, a development the company says will expand its reach in the European recreational and commercial vehicle markets.

The certification applies to widely used platforms, including the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter, Fiat Ducato, Ford Transit, Peugeot Boxer, and Citroën Jumper, according to the company’s press release issued earlier this month.

TÜV Rheinland, a German-based inspection agency, is one of the most recognized testing authorities in Europe.

Certification means SumoSprings meet required safety and quality standards under German and European Union regulations, making it easier for upfitters, dealers, and vehicle owners to install and register vehicles equipped with the products across the EU, the company stated.

“This isn’t just a stamp of approval. It’s a symbol of trust and reliability for our European partners,” Gerry Lamberti, chief executive officer of SuperSprings International, said in the release.

“TÜV certification validates what our customers in the U.S. have known for years—SumoSprings are a safe, durable, and maintenance-free solution for improving ride quality and stability.”

The company noted that certification followed extensive testing under different load conditions. Evaluations covered handling, braking, steering response, and vehicle stability.

Results indicated no adverse effects on safety or performance.

The release added that separate U.S. testing under Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards found SumoSprings improved braking performance, reduced chassis vibration, and increased resistance to rollover, particularly for motorhomes and vans.

Justin Coulter, director of sales at SuperSprings, said the approval “is a strategic win for our European partners and OEM customers. We’ve been working closely with our distribution network overseas to make sure our products meet every requirement needed to grow in that market. This opens up new opportunities for upfitters and makes life easier for installers who are building vehicles for delivery, travel, or work.”

Chief Operating Officer Adam Trowbridge emphasized the company’s investment in manufacturing processes, stating that ISO 9001-certified systems supported scalability for international growth.

“This milestone reflects the quality and consistency we’ve built into our manufacturing process,” Trowbridge said in the release.

What it Means for RV Manufacturers, Dealers

RV manufacturers and dealers serving both North American and European markets may benefit from streamlined compliance.

TÜV approval reduces friction in the registration process overseas, which could accelerate production timelines and simplify distribution for vehicles outfitted with SumoSprings.

Suppliers and upfitters in the RV supply chain may find opportunities to expand their offerings.

With certification in place, installers across Europe have clearer pathways to integrate SumoSprings into fleet and leisure vehicles, potentially increasing demand for certified suspension systems in the van life and motorhome segments.

SuperSprings International stated that it will continue building partnerships in Europe following the certification.

The company did not disclose specific distribution timelines, projected unit volumes, or regional rollouts.
