Spacious Skies Campgrounds offers an array of amenities designed to welcome dogs along with their families. The campgrounds, which stretch from Maine to Georgia, also feature pet-friendly cabins and glamping options.
The Cosmic Canine Commons, fenced-in dog parks available at most Spacious Skies locations, provide a space for dogs to play. These parks vary in size and design across the campgrounds but consistently offer a secure environment for pets to socialize and exercise. At Spacious Skies Woodland Hills in Austerlitz, New York, campers can find RV sites with private dog runs known as Cosmic Canine Campsites.
Ali Rasmussen, co-founder of Spacious Skies Campgrounds, emphasized that dogs are considered family at their campgrounds. “With the arrival of the ‘dog days of summer’ and unrelenting high temperatures in many locations in the East, now is an especially good time to pack up your pup for a cosmic camping getaway at any of the campgrounds in the Spacious Skies collection,” Rasmussen said.
Each campground within the Spacious Skies collection offers unique amenities for pets. At Spacious Skies Shenandoah Views in Luray, Virginia, dogs can enjoy a shady grove, providing a cool respite during the hot summer months. This sustainable choice utilizes forested areas with minimal tree removal.
Rasmussen noted that staff at Spacious Skies Woodland Hills observed an “innovative and unintended use for some of the sites with private dog runs.”
“We’ve noticed that some of our campers like to put their toddlers in these fenced-in dog runs where they can safely play and parents can watch and relax without worrying these tiny cosmic campers will wander off,” Rasmussen said.
In Savannah, Georgia, Spacious Skies Savannah Oaks features a ramp and boat dock for paddling on the Ogeechee River. Campers frequently paddle with their dogs, many of whom wear personal flotation devices for safety.
Spacious Skies Hidden Creek in Marion, North Carolina, offers a natural swimming experience for dogs in the Bledsoe Branch of North Muddy Creek. This hidden creek can be accessed via a short hike within the campground property.
Recently, new Cosmic Canine Commons have been introduced at Spacious Skies Adirondack Peaks, Bear Den, and Balsam Woods.
Pet-friendly cabins are also seen at Spacious Skies campgrounds. Spacious Skies Balsam Woods in Abbot, Maine, offers both rustic and deluxe cabins that welcome pets. Similarly, Spacious Skies Shenandoah Views features pet-friendly yurts and cabins.
Near Boston, Spacious Skies Minute Man provides pet-friendly cabins and has been recognized as one of the top 10 RV parks in the country by USA Today.
In Monterey, Spacious Skies Belle Ridge offers a variety of luxury cabins that accommodate pets. Additionally, Spacious Skies Peach Haven in Georgia also features deluxe pet-friendly cabins.
At Spacious Skies Hidden Creek, lakeview cabins provide pet-friendly lodging options that can accommodate six to nine people.
Spacious Skies Campgrounds continues to expand its dog-friendly amenities. Rasmussen mentioned that many more campgrounds in the collection will soon feature RV sites with private dog runs.
