Ocean Lakes Family Campground in South Carolina remains open even after Hurricane Ian.
“We are open and have been accepting new guests, including campers, since Saturday,” the Myrtle Beach campground announced on its website early today.
Moreover, clean-up operations are underway at the campground.
The park’s beachfront dunes have sustained damage from the onslaught of Hurricane Ian, but the team is doing repairs to slowly but surely help things return to normal.
Throughout the week, and even before the storm, the campground kept guests and campers updated through its social media—announcing the postponement of some activities, closure of some amenities and areas to new campers, and now the clean-up.
On Facebook, Ocean Lakes Family Campground kept everyone in the know as it monitored the hurricane.
Since then, updates kept pouring in accompanied by photos showing the aftermath of the storm.
At 8 a.m. today, a Facebook announcement by the park happily declared that Halloweekends activities at Ocean Lakes are back to normal schedule.
The team continues to tidy up and repair the park.
“Thank you for your patience this weekend as we recover from Hurricane Ian. Our team has worked diligently all weekend to continue to remove debris,” a statement on its website reads.
Ocean Lakes stands on 310 oceanfront acres with almost a mile of beachfront. The campground offers more than 850 campsites and over 2,500 annual lease sites.
