RVWACF Honors Late Instructor Bill Stewart With Scholarship for Women in RV Technician Roles

The RV Women’s Alliance Charitable Foundation (RVWACF) announced the launch of the Bill Stewart Scholarship.

This new fund honors the late Bill Stewart, a noted industry leader who served as the lead instructor for the RVWACF Women’s Tech Program.

The scholarship aims to cover the costs of RV technician training, utilizing the curriculum and testing standards of the RV Technical Institute (RVTI).

By increasing the number of trained personnel, the initiative seeks to improve Repair Event Cycle Time (RECT) across the sector.

Stewart was known for his advocacy for women in the industry, championing continual learning and mentorship until his passing.

His daughter, Megan Claycomb, noted that the scholarship reflects her father’s commitment to education.

“Our family is honored to see Dad’s passion for teaching live on through this scholarship,” Claycomb said in a News and Insights report of RVIA on December 3.

She added, “He believed in helping others succeed in the RV industry and would be so proud to know that his legacy continues to open doors.”

The program targets women across the RV ecosystem, including those in service, parts, warranty, and operations roles.

Jennet Lewis of NTP/STAG and RVWACF Chair emphasized the tribute aspect of the fund.

“The Bill Stewart Scholarship stands as a powerful tribute to Bill’s dedication to our industry and, most importantly, to the advancement of women within it,” Lewis said.

Lewis recalled working with Stewart during a certification class in Portland, Oregon, witnessing his dedication to empowering women firsthand.

“Bill shared a very personal story with the women in that class about the profound loss of his mother and how that experience shaped his lifelong commitment to supporting and empowering women. I am truly excited to see this scholarship come to life and carry forward his mission,” Lewis added.

She noted that the initiative continues his mission by “strengthening our industry in the way he always envisioned.”

Applications for the scholarship are set to open on January 1, 2026.
