The RV Technical Institute (RVTI) released its 2024 Annual Report, detailing a year marked by expansion in training initiatives and increased certification of RV service technicians. The report reflects the Institute’s mission to address the nationwide shortage of skilled technicians through partnerships and educational outreach.
Throughout 2024, the institute strengthened collaborations with educational institutions, including high schools and vocational schools. These partnerships aimed to introduce RV technician training to students preparing for careers in skilled trades.
The institute also worked to raise awareness of RV service careers by attending national events such as the American School Counselors Association Conference and the Future Farmers of America Convention.
According to a News and Insights report of RVIA, a notable milestone included a new partnership with Navarro College, which became the first community college to adopt the Institute’s Level 1 technician training program into its curriculum.
Efforts to diversify the technician workforce continued in 2024 with a renewed collaboration between the institute and the RV Women’s Alliance. Together, they hosted all-women’s technician training courses in multiple locations across the country to encourage more women to enter the field.
In addition to expanding its reach, the institute introduced five Level 3 workshops during the year. These specialty-focused sessions were designed to support technicians in progressing toward Level 4 Master Technician certification by offering accessible training in each of the five advanced areas.
The institute reported substantial outcomes from these efforts. By year’s end, 6,729 technicians had received certification through the RVTI’s training program.
According to the report, 997 dealerships across the country now employ at least one technician certified by the institute.
